Northcote is a vibrant hub of culture and cuisine. But it was lacking one of the most vital services to any neighbourhood - a Bike shop.
EC Cycles opened in March 2021. We have built our store around the workshop, what we believe is the heart of any great bike shop. Our open plan store allows you to talk directly with the mechanic - allowing us to provide exactly what you need from your bike and riding experience.
With state of the art tools, and years of knowledge there is no better place for you to bring your bike.
Not only do we fix bikes, we stock some of the best brands of parts and accessories.
Eric - Owner/Mechanic
Eric has been working on bikes for nearly 40 years. Growing up in Brazil often meant making do with what you had. That grassroots knowledge of bike parts makes Eric one of the best problem solvers in the trade, allowing him the ability to fix what many would see as un-fixable.
Chuck - Owner/Mechanic
Cutting his teeth in road racing through school, Chuck developed a passion for road racing and their bikes. After spending the most of last decade overseas working for UCI continental racing teams, Chuck now has returned to NZ to lend his knowledge back to the public.
Also while overseas he was exposed to the massive range of bikes out there, and hope to bring some new ideas to the NZ bike market.

A true Italian stallion (don’t worry, he is running Campagnolo cranks now). Another modern classic, full Campag Super Record. Painted in the Movistar livery of 2013, this thing is still a weapon

Genesis Volare - Reynolds 953 Stainless Steel, Chris King headset, Dura-Ace and PRO trimmings. Wheels chop and change, currently running a pair of DT Swiss PR1400 DiCut hoops. Modern Steel is Real.

If you are visiting us for the first time, it can be a bit tricky to find the shop.
We are located on the “Mall”. A lovely pedestrianised section of the shops. From the main car park, look for the big tree and concrete sculpture; head towards the library. From there and you’ll see us.
